ORANGE CITY — James M. “Jim” Guido, 66, died Feb. 19, 2017.
Mr. Guido was born near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in St. Albans, Vermont, and Orlando by his parents, retired U.S. Air Force noncommissioned officer David J. Guido, and his wife, Jeanne.
Jim is survived by his wife, Donna Robinson Guido of Orange City; his sister, Anna-Sue Guido of Gainesville; and his brothers, Michael Guido of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mark Guido of Orlando, and their families.
He was a devoted, loving father and grandfather to daughter Christina Guido and her son, Caleb Dent; daughter Brandi Guido Barber and husband David, and their son, U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Skilar Guido, and their daughter, Autumn Barber; his son, James Guido and wife Jennifer, and their daughter, Reese, and their son, Nash; stepson Stephen Lenzi and stepdaughter Cherie Lenzi, and their mother, Paula Griffin Guido, and their family, all of Central Florida; and stepdaughter Valerie Holmes and her family, all of Central Florida.
Jim served as a medic in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and then built a 30-plus-year career in sheet metal and HVAC contracting, a tradecraft he also introduced to his younger brother and eldest stepson.
Jim shared his lifelong enthusiasm for music and motorcycles with his family and many cherished friends.
For many years, Jim, his wife and their extended family especially looked forward to spending Bike Week together with many dear visiting friends. This year, they all joined Jim in a final ride and service to memorialize him in passing as he was known in life — with laughter and love.
